19 Sep 2011: Islamic Students League chief and senior
pro-freedom leader Shakeel Ahmad Bakshi, who was arrested by the police
early this year, has been released, a news agency reported on Monday.
Bakshi was granted bail by the Sub
Registrar Srinagar court. He had been arrested on February 17 this year
from his Batamaloo office and since then was languishing in different
jails of the state.
The Principal Sessions Court had granted bail to Bakshi in the case of FIR no 107 of 2009 on September 6, 2011.
Bakshi was booked after Batamaloo police station registered an FIR against him under various acts.
