Islamic Students League describes Sardar Qayoom opportunist

Apr 11: The Islamic Students League president, Shakeel Bakshi Friday criticized Sardar Abdul Qayoom for describing right to self-determination movement as wastage of time & and said he belittle sacrifices of six lakh martyrs, who have laid down their lives for Kashmir cause since 1947.
Describing Qayoom as opportunist Bakshi said that he should first return all that he has acquired from this movement. He said in 90s these people tried to vivisect the movement in the name of Greenbelt and other organizations and now they give slogan of unity to safeguard what they have acquired during the movement. Bakshi said
people like Sardar Qayoom who reject the right to self-determination have been
acted against the movement. “If he denies the movement, we deny his very existence,” he said.
He said the confidence building measures were not
solution but a delaying tactics. “And those who believe in the confidence
building measures would in a way accept both the governments,” he said.
