Salah-ud-Din parrots NC stand: Shakeel Bakshi

Srinagar, Dec 17: Reacting to the United Jihad Council (UJC) chairman and Hizbul Mujahideen supreme commander Syed Salah-ud-Din’s statement about Irish-type solution for Kashmir issue, the Islamic Student League (ISL) chairman Shakeel Ahmad Bakhshi termed it endorsement of National Conference stand. In a statement on Monday, Bakhshi said, “Irish Model for sectarian war can never be the substitute or first step to freedom of our of homeland. Had it been our demand, we could get it fulfilled without taking to gun. We are not fighting to make India acknowledge the disputed status of Kashmir. We are fighting to liberate our homeland from the Indian occupation.” Salah-ud-Din in an interview to local news agency had expressed readiness to support the Irish-type solution for Kashmir if India accepted Kashmir as disputed territory. Meanwhile, Bakhshi alleged that 24 persons were arrested and booked under Public Safety Act (PSA) in Sopur area alone in last two months
